DELETE YOUR BUILDPAL ACCOUNT

Last updated August 04, 2026

Applies to: the Buildpal Worker app and the Buildpal Supervisor app (developer: Buildpal, Kigali, Rwanda).

You can ask us to delete your Buildpal account and its associated personal data at any time. This page explains how, and what we delete versus what we must keep.

How to request deletion

Choose either option:
  1. In the app: open the app, go to Profile → Help & support, and send a message with the subject "Delete my account".
  2. By email: write to [email protected] from the email address or phone number registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
So we can verify the request is really yours, please send it from your registered email or phone number, or include your registered phone number in the message. We confirm every deletion request and complete it within the period required by law (and normally within 30 days).

Delete only some of your data

You do not have to close your account to remove specific information. Using either method above, you can also ask us to delete or correct particular data (for example, your uploaded documents or your payout details). Tell us which data you mean and we will action it, except where we are legally required to keep it (see What we keep below).

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data, including:
  • your name, phone number, email address, and password/PIN;
  • your national identity number and your identity-document photos and verification selfie;
  • your profile photo, trades, skills, certifications, and reputation data;
  • your saved payout method and mobile-money number;
  • your location data and device identifiers;
  • your messages and support history.

What we keep, and for how long

Some records are retained after account deletion because the law requires it or to prevent fraud and resolve disputes:
  • Financial and transaction records (payments, earnings, withdrawals): retained for the period required by Rwandan tax and financial law, then deleted.
  • Records under an active dispute or legal hold: retained until the matter is resolved.
  • Minimal fraud-prevention records: retained where necessary to protect the platform and its users.
Where we keep such records, we limit them to what is legally necessary and protect them with the same security controls described in our Privacy Policy.
